Somdev Devvarman won India's maiden gold medal in men's singles tennis by beating top-seeded Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan at the Asian Games in Guangzhou on 23rd Nov, 2010.

In the title clash at the Aoti Tennis, second seeded Somdev won 6-1, 6-3 for his second gold medal in the Asian Games. Somdev's singles gold was the seventh that also took India to the seventh spot in the medal's table.
