The women's 4X400 metres relay quartet, men's and women's kabaddi teams and  won golds at the Asian Games here Friday to take the country's tally to 14.

With a silver and four bronzes also coming India's way, the country's overall medal tally rose to 61, the highest after the 1982 New Delhi Asian Games.
India's 62 medals comprise 14 gold, 15 silver and 33 bronze. India had won 57 medals (13-19-25) at the 1982 Games.

The quartet of Manjeet Kaur, Sini Jose, Ashwini Chidananda and Mandeep Kaur, which won the gold in the 2010 Commonwealth Games, came on top here clocking 3:29.02 seconds.







The Indian women's kabaddi team completed a memorable Asian Games debut by clinching the gold medal with a comprehensive win over Thailand in the finals in Guangzhou.
The Indians beat Thailand 28-14 in a dominating performance to clinch the inaugural women's kabaddi gold of the Asian Games.



Indian men team completed the double in Kabaddi by clinching Gold medal emulating the feat of the Indian eves on the pen ultimate day of the XVIth Asian Games here on Friday. India clinched the gold medal by defeating Iran 37-20.

Defending champions, India, dominated their opponents, Iran, and kept the record clean of being the superpower in the event and won the 12th Gold medal of the Games. This was the sixth continuous gold medal for Indian men in Kabaddi starting since Beijing Asiad in 1990.





World number one Vijender Singh (75kg) clinched an unprecedented second boxing gold for India at the ongoing Asian Games.
